CLASS EXPECTATIONS The successful student will: * Read actively and critically for a variety of purposes. * Communicate effectively through a variety of means for a variety of purposes. * Work independently as well as collaboratively. * Solve problems effectively. * Demonstrate content knowledge through a variety of means including digital and technological. * Demonstrate appropriate and effective community involvement, civic responsibility, and leadership skills. * Demonstrate personal and social responsibility, character, cultural understanding, work ethic, and ethical behavior.
CLASS RULES 1. Be on time in your seat working on the Do Now. 2. Be prepared with your materials: pencils sharpened, paper in binder, etc. 3. Participate in classroom discussions; raise your hand. 4. Use finger signals posted in the room. 5. Directions will give be ONE TIME. So listen the first time.
CLASS PROCEDURES Line up outside the classroom quietly. Enter quietly and quickly. Begin working on the Do Now. Use finger signals to communicate needs during class. Stay in seat until given permission UNLESS you are turning in work. Always have supplies: paper in your binder, sharpened pencils, erasers, etc. When you have finished your work, read a book; therefore, you should ALWAYS HAVE A BOOK WITH YOU. All work is to be done in pencil (NOT COLORED PENCILS OR PENS); most formal assignments will be submitted on your device. If you do not have a device, you can write work in black or blue pen. Red pens are for grading, editing, revising ONLY. No food or gum or drinks in class; you may have a water bottle with WATER. Assignments are due ON TIME. FOLD and HOLD trash until the end of class. When you are absent, make up work will be in hanging files on cabinet door. ONLY take out electronics upon request. Plagiarism/academic dishonesty (cheating) will result in a 0.
